FBI Agents Association Marks 13th Anniversary of Robert Levinson’s Disappearance

The FBI Agents Association (FBIAA), representing more than 14,000 active and former FBI Special Agents, is marking the 13th anniversary of former FBI Agent Robert Levinson’s disappearance by calling on Iran to cooperate with the international community and provide information on his disappearance that could lead to his return home.

“On this solemn anniversary, FBIAA asks the U.S. government and the international community to redouble efforts to press Iran for information on Bob Levinson’s disappearance,” said FBIAA President Brian O’Hare.  “It’s time to bring Bob home to his family.  We urge anyone with knowledge of Bob’s whereabouts to come forward to help reunite him with his loved ones.”

Robert “Bob” Levinson is a retired FBI Agent who served 22 years with the FBI and six with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Mr. Levinson traveled to Kish Island, Iran as a private investigator and has not been publicly seen or heard from since his disappearance on March 9, 2007. The FBI is charged with investigating crimes committed against U.S. citizens abroad, and has been actively conducting an investigation to locate Levinson.  The FBI is offering a reward of $5 million, and the Department of State Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Program is offering a reward of up to $20 million, for information leading to Bob’s safe location, recovery, and return.

“Bob has missed more than a decade of accomplishments and milestones in the lives of his children and his wife, Christine,” said O’Hare.  “His former colleagues at the FBI have not forgotten him.  We will continue to work for his release and pledge to the Levinson family that we will not let the world forget Bob’s unjustified imprisonment.”
